Emails Reveal Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Connection

Steve Bannon
Bannon was one of the former president's closest strategists before stepping down from the White House in August 2017

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down speech I doubt I can catch the flight we are heading to the airport".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent helper".

These messages were released on this week alongside over 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets managed to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and places mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about arranging a jet from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his presidency, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the series, the multi-part documentary, next year - early next year."

But the newly released materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a aide.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the most highly paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The published communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this day with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he added: "The guys are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can in the UK. Best-- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the guys over here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually removed in 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in December 2018.

A representative for the political party told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should make public all its files related to its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

A portion of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently rejected any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they parted ways in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
